I was impressed by your Submariner’s ecru sweater - it is like one I bought at Silvermans in London about 20 years ago and still wear. I have the Navy version as well.
That Sub Sweater believe it or not originally came from Uniqlo shop here in Madrid, 100% Lambswool, lovely to wear as it's not itchy and warm enough under anything, ah you came to Centro Madrid, did you walk round the palace gardens? And I think you saw the Picasso Guernica no? I also had the Silverman's off white Jersey living in East Coast England
I remember Silverman's 20 years ago, hell you could buy vintage British camo smocks reasonable priced back then, not so now, even Belgy post war smocks are through the roof now
I certainly did walk around the palace gardens and I saw the Guernica, which I had wanted to see for a long time. I was also impressed by the Goyas in the Prado.

I just walked the dogs and it was 1c here, I wouldn't have minded that but that strong wind with it wasn't kind, hood right up on the N3B

I was issued on in 1981, wore the **** out of it. Typically wore it under my utility blouse (camo shirt) and it was toasty. Also wore it for years after I got out of the service, often hunting our other outdoors activities. I think my wife must have found it a new home because it was just no longer there at some point.

Quite possibly, I'm happy with my ecru Lambswool sweater, as in Madrid when it starts warming up it warms up so sweater wearing is short. That Das Boot zippered smock sweater, I had similar in North Yorkshire years ago, I liked it, I had a American one same time but it had 3 wood buttons instead of a zipper
Yes, the summer would be my problem with living in Madrid. I have thought about it as I have an EU passport (my father was Irish-born) and I do think about leaving the U.K. for a European city when I retire because of the diminishing quality of life and the scary rise of the far right.
