Schott size medium has always fit me perfectly regardless of the pattern, so I was one of the gullible fools to bite on this jacket.

Haven't made up my mind on keeping it or not, but fortunately Schott does have a phenomenal return policy. @X83 and @Tom71 the price is pretty outrageous. That being said the website lists the jacket as made in "exceptional Horween horsehide," which I think is a fair statement. Not the best lighting but the jacket just arrived.

If I do keep it though, besides the fit, the quality of the leather will be the reason. This is veg tan full aniline leather, completely different than the chromexcel stuff I've previously experienced. Still very robust, but when I quickly tried it on moving around was fine, and I'd imagine it would be beautiful once broken in. Even the buttons were easy to use. Best way I could describe this leather is more like artisinal horsehide, like the Maryam hide I bought for my custom Vanson, or that you see used for a lot of custom boots. Just look at the grain on the back panels, it's all over the jacket. Lastly, the color!

To my untrained eye, this looks like the kind of jacket nobody would bat an eye if it went for 3k made by Rainbow Country or RMC.

Well, it isn’t, and no Horween hide cost anywhere near the Shinki, RMC use. And cost of Labor in JP is ca. 30% above US. It’s really not a fair comment.

If you say however, it looks every bit as nice as a jacket from the more pricey competitor, I’d hardly disagree. A Tudor can looks a good as a Rolex and is of very comparable quality, but I still wouldn’t pay the same price for it.

Well, despite my comment re price, it does look very nice. Value for money is what you think it is.

I sincerely hope, you enjoy every bit out of it.

(The Horween horse on the new CHPs/Perfecto is very impressive and nice as well. Unless Horween has raised prices for their hides by a lot, I would still wager, Schott has incorprorated an extra margin into their “special offerings” lately.)

Ok well my opinion is if you love it buy it wear and enjoy it I’ve spent 1800 on jackets that some might look at and think why I was just making the observation that I own the same jacket but in black hh from Schott not in horween I must add and it was about 1150 at the time since then I think it’s gone up and that I gave it no second thought when I was at the store I then saw the price online and thought that up there but brother I trust you will enjoy this jacket
