Small world. Was she at the University there? UU have a campus in Derry, as I recall.

Ben Nevis do do one in navy that looks really sharp - same options for no yokes, or PVC, or (black) nubuck, same price.

Small world indeed!

My sister was a schoolteacher there. Her original plan was to stay for one year only, but she really came to like it.
Derry liked her to, it seems. For a long time she didn’t even rent some for herself but rather surfed various couches of friends for months and months.

Schott Vandals Update: Belt BLTV

I had purchased the recommended belt at the same time as ordering the large in this jacket that I exchanged for this medium.
For a large they recommend a size 42 belt.
Sadly for the medium the correct size would be 40 which is on backorder with no estimated fill date.
Soooooo..... broke out my leather shears and punch some of which I have from customizing leather watch straps....... For the time being, I like it!
(PS a simple grocery store trip after work today turned out to several comments about the jacket. More than my other ones it really brought questions about motorcycles as opposed to the 613 which usually brings compliments like "sick jacket man"

Vanson Sturgis steerhide for today's motorcycle ride. 12C on the out and 24 or 27 on the home run dependent on the distance from the seabreeze.
Size L (44 I reckon), fits me well.
Elasticated Waist on this model keeps it tight for the bike, and vented sleeves and back for the warmer return journey. Ziptight sleeves and built in perforated liner. Great motorcycle jacket if temps vary.
A bit of a "dad jacket" this, worn ONLY on the bike. Being otherwise a "Hayzoos" of cool this don't make it at downtime.
PS the older I get the better I was....

Worn on a very early, very cold NYC morning. Schott 618 HH.

This jacket was the reason to make the trip from Midtown to the flagship store, and I was so focussed on it, that I forgot to produce photographic evidence of how great the new horsehide Perfecto/Cop Jacket is in the flesh.

Very happy with the jacket after the first two hours with it. Wears totally, absolutely different than the 613SH, although I am still undecided as to why. Both are size 44, and I was swimming in the 46 I tried on just to see how it behaves.
The jacket uses the same, gorgeous horsehide as the 613SH, and that alone elevates it from the other “classic” models, IMO.

Will also do a comparison to the 613SH for the 618HH thread when I get back home.

Would definitely love to read that comparison! Jacket looks awesome on you!

If you can afford to keep it in a rotation with other jackets knowing this one isn’t for zippering up I’d go for it.

If I’d known the true measurements up front then I wouldn’t have bought it (it showed up an inch smaller in the chest than stated) but I’m really glad I did and think I can justify it.

Buuut if a nice size 40 pops up at some point and the lengths are similar…
