New colder weather jacket- Opinions

I owned a lhb with the Harris tweed lining..sold that on the forum to a guy in Ireland I believe..if i was going to buy another longer jacket I would go either vicenza or goatskin, with a sheepskin lining in the body.had a 20s workcoat in fantastic dark seal Vicenza, loved it but unfortunately weighloss meant it had to go,again sold here on forum.
Ps I also have thrown caution to the wind and ridden the bike (short distance)wearing a tee-shirt.very very rarely since Scotland isn't blessed with many heatwaves.

Eeps. I remember gonig out pillion on my Dad's PC800 back in the 90s, on a scorching day in July, and being shocked at how much colder it got at 50mph within just a few minutes!

I know what you mean, West Suffolk/Norfolk is not all that far behind...

Vicenza is firmly in contention, if I decide for mid-weight, that would be the one I'd go for..
I am thinking blackened brown with rust collar and natural shearling in the body

and yes, 20's work coat has been in my bucket list for a while...I have seen it in the flesh recently and it's just such a great looking thing....so many styles so little time

Yeh, the big Honda. Pearl whited over ocean grey. Only bike he every had that had KMPH on the speedo, as that particular one had originally been sold in South Africa. This would have been about 1995-1997, I think. TBF, I didn't care for the aesthetic of it *at* *all*, but you couldn't argue with how low maintenance it was, or performance and reliability. Too much bike for me personally - if ever my circumstances make it practical, I'd prefer something like a Royal Enfield or a Black Douglas.

Pan Euro was ******-proof, preferred choice of every commuter and great winter hack, in the mid-90s my mate had a white ex-police one with moon-and-back miles on it which kept going and going, probably still on the road!!

I guess the other important factor for me and one of the reason of eyeing the LHB in the first place was the fact that every leather jacket I own (4 of) are short.

So in my mind, having a new and "different" , jacket but with extra length and "winterised" features would have served well in killing the proverbial 2 birds with one...jacket!!

Will keep pondering while waiting for those samples

One thing I do is to wear a "properly-fitting" and similar jacket and bend as far forwards as possible. If the rear hem of the jacket does not stay below my conventionally worn pants belt, then jacket is too short for me. Won't be good in cold temps.

Some Mfrs/vendors will "customize" body length (and sleeves) depending on your specific requirements. note that this is a "customized" item and may not be returnable.

Always suggest using specific measuring techniques supplied by prospective Mfrs/Vendors. Such measuring techniques can vary amongst garment mfrs/vendors. Always take chest measurement with fully inflated chest.

It's my personal experience that most garments, if a little too large in some dimensions, are much more tolerable than garments being too small/short. YMMV.
