It's just the crazy inflated U.S. price on eBay vs. the price in Japan. No one is touching it for about 700 USD in Japan either.

The seller says the weight of the jacket is about 5 pounds and when you make him an offer he'll either turn it down or counter with a five buck reduction.

1940s Talon main zipper. From the leather jackets I’ve seen, Al Crowes is pre-war.

The hide looks like horse, not deer.

I guess someone like Dena could put patches of leather over the elbows or even "quilted" leather to simply preserve it. Better than pitching it I would think.

I get tired of this too!

Makes me want to pick up nearly any good old Vanson I see that's well priced and a size I can wear, just to keep 'em around "for a rainy day." There's a lot of fakes out there and more coming every day!

I can see that being true for a bust seam but that collar is s(c)hot. And the price is only keen for one in decent condition imo…

If you add a piece of corduroy on top of the collar, it’s good to go. It’s commonly done in Ralphs-Pugh jacket (see below). Alternatively, you can also wear it with a mouton collar.

Not leather I know but this Italian N-1-style is pretty neat. 1950s per the seller though I've seen them listed before as 60s/70s. p2p is 23.5 and I just got an offer through for C$340 ($243)
