$175 for a new jacket from this company is not a bad price. I have not seen a lot of information on them but what I have seen has been positive.

But what do you mean "legit"? This is a real company and they offer a G-1 reproduction. So far as I know, you will get a jacket if your order from them. However, they have never had a contract with the U.S. Navy, if that's what you're asking.

There is a lot of information on this site about G-1s. Is San Diego leather's G-1 reproduction more attractive to you than an original G-1? For example, you can get a Vietnam era or a 1980s issued G-1 (both in cowhide) from eBay for $100.00. I got my 1957 goatskin one for $300.00 off the Bay. Would either of those be more valuable to you? Does it matter to you that the collar be real fur?

Cockpit U.S.A. does a reproduction that has a good reputation (I forget which one it is, but it might be worth looking up on this site to find out).

So "legit"? Yes. But is the best option for the money? I would advise you to research if you haven't already.

I dealt with barnstormers, great store with lots of brands and inventory, no tax and they ship internationally, good communication and usually get a replies within a day, just not that good at providing pics with measurements ime.

Yeah I actually came across this company on the forum but couldn't find a lot related to their quality. Cockpit has G-1 jackets that sell at least 3x more than this one. I don't doubt that their jackets are better quality. I'll consider one from them if I do decide to order a G-1.

I find it sketchy because:
1. They say these are closeouts from another company but don't disclose which company, so we won't know what the quality's like.
2. No information on the leather, other listings on their site at least state the leather's top grain.
3. Just 1 picture and no sizing info.

They may be able to tell you more over the phone but I don't like their lack of transparency. This is a pass for me but may be useful for others.
