Thank you for the recommendation. I feel the same way and have tried inserts in the past but they didn’t last long. I will go and hunt this one down and make a purchase today. I greatly appreciate you sharing this!!A while back on here somewhere I mentioned that I was going to order a Thunderbird butane insert for my old Zippo, because the gasoline fumes spoiled my smoke.
I got it a couple of days ago, and just wanted to report that it works really great. Gives my the best of both worlds. If, like me you like Zippos for the vintage vibe and all that but can't stand the stink and taste, I would suggest you give the Thunderbird a try.
At eleven dollars it's hard to go wrong. Dave at Walker Briar Works told me I'd love it, and he was telling the truth.
Made by vector?
I was actually referring to the thunderbird because both of my original zippo flame inserts didn’t last long. They were made in China so that’s kinda the norm in my experience.Mine? It's the original Zippo yellow flame insert. I currently refill it with high-purified butane to prevent "sooting" the nozzle.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I do like the flame type of lighter though when I have a pipe smoke in the evenings..Mine? It's the original Zippo yellow flame insert. I currently refill it with high-purified butane to prevent "sooting" the nozzle.

It probably does matter. I tell my customers all the time that the same brand water heater isn’t the same quality water heater that I get from the supply shop.. anyways I really love my zippos so I’m going to get a couple more inserts. They just aren’t as reliable as the old flame zippos.. can’t kill em they just work!Mine is also Made in China, but currently I got the third flinstone in and it still works. We will see.
Don't know, if it matters, but I bought it in classic street store, not online.
