I wore my heather WP yesterday. Temps in the 40s to low 50s. I wore a medium weight jacket over it and a shop apron on top of that to keep the dirt off. I was working on a project on my workbench in my tractor shed (where I do the messy projects) and wanted to keep everything clean, especially the WP.

I stayed warm, and the WP stayed clean. A good combination.

Too early in the year to even think about wearing the WP. Another two months and I will start to think about it. Actually looking forward to the WP as we have had a hot summer here.

I agree. We have had some horrible heatwaves by British standards and I am yearning for autumn - and wearing WPs again!

It probably won't get into true sweater weather where I'm at until November... I miss the autumn months of my youth, with the trees in full color by mid-late September, and bare by Halloween, with first frost around that time and persistent snow on the ground within a month later, all the way until March of next year.

I agree. I hate the heat and loathe summer, although I love the other three seasons. I can’t wait for autumn colours, soft light, gentle rain, crisp mornings and evenings and, of course, sweaters!

Some WP sweaters have a "V" neck which I greatly prefer for comfort and ease of donning/doffing.

For same reasons, I have come to prefer a front-zip fleece jacket with a stand-up Mandarin collar. Depending on thickness of the fleece, such items may include "Pit-Zips" which greatly increase their utility.

Have a Like from me to welcome you to the club. … But to be honest I don’t really agree with you as I prefer the WP crew neck and have no problems with donning and doffing them.

That’s great news. Summer in London has been Dante’s Inferno. I know that some Americans believe that climate change is a ‘con trick’, but here‘s to some nice healthy crisp cold and months of WP weather.

Replica WW2 thin wool C-2 zip-front sweater is available from Bronson. Strongly suggest that a thin fleece zip-front jacket, with stand-up "Mandrin" collar is a wise, economical choice.

The woolly pully is a great all-rounder here in NE Pennsylvania. Good for around the house and as a layer. Today at 20 degrees F it's under a parka when I go outside. In a few days it will be a rainy 49 degrees F and there will be a woolly pully under my waxed jacket.

I imagine the rule is that you have to wait until it arrives and you have actually worn it in the field in cold weather. Given your location, it may be a while before you see any cold weather.

I moved back to NYC. We in the 20's today Also rethinking why I moved back East.

Ticklishchap and I are old friends. He should be able to give me a hall pass until my new jumper arrives.

Winter has arrived Chicago, however, for some reason I still haven't broken out my last
British commando OD green sweater; instead relying on lesser brands to do the trick.
I'm losing fashion focus and sartorial style both. If I luck the Smarty Jones stakes superfecta
tomorrow, I'll put my winnings toward a RN white roll and a dark Gloverall coat. Memories of university
days armed The Sunday Times held gloved hand with a rolled Mayfair safely tucked inside a Gloverall pocket.
