Not so wonderful news on Mr Moose... Hes out of surgery and resting well, but will most likely need to stay there overnight. The tumor on his spleen involved over half the spleen ( removed successfully) . Unfortunately they found a hardened cancerous mass covering one of his kidneys that has adhered to the abdominal wall and other organs so it was not able to be removed. Long term prognosis is not very positive Im afraid.

Vet called and said Mr Moose was dong fine even standing in the crate most of the time. She gave to option to take him home or leave him overnight. I got to thinking about kennels and loud stressed dogs .... didnt want a yelper to wake him up in the middle of the night and get him excited, so I ran over and bailed my boy out of jail. He looks a lot more comfortable on his loveseat. Hes pretty doped up so Im expecting a quiet uneventful evening lol

Im my kid brain, if he wakes up in the middle of the night here, hes in familiar surroundings. Ill leave a light on and see if I cant find my Southwestern Navajo flute music cd... put that on repeat and it will put both of us to sleep for sure

I’m glad you were able to get him home where he belongs. Sorry to hear the longer term prognosis. Hoping he ignores it and plays on through.
