If you’re into leather jackets and also into raw denim/indigo bleed (like me), you’d think that it’s mad cool—it’s original, it’s unique, it’s wearable art and it’s the perfect combination of what you like, as it evolves.

I think it can be overdone though. There should have been a stopping point, like the below. And it should have been done insideout, so they don’t need to flip it insideout to show the indigo bleed on natural leather. I believe it can be tastefully executed.

To me that jacket is being sold as a destination when the whole point was enjoying the way to get there. Something unique but 100% mine, not from someone I don't even know which makes that one as it is a dealbreaker.

I don’t think that jacket is for sale. The questions implied here are (1) do you think that indigo-bled leather jacket is cool? and (2) does looking at the pics make you want to attempt a similar project?

I happen to be sitting on a recently delivered natural leather jacket and two previously owned raw indigo shirts. Seeing the shared pics above makes it tempting for me to embark on such a similar project.

This said, 1) No, I don't think it is particularly cool 2) No, I wouldn't attempt it but, if it started accidentally I think I would embrace it, go all in and enjoy the ride.

I can see why you like it.

It’s not for me though.

I have some natural jackets with indigo bleed on the inside of the hem and various scuff marks/colour rub all over. All by accident (as in: I don’t baby the jacket, but I don’t seek to stain it either).

I am not a fan of artificial distressing of any kind. For me it’s just a premature waste of an expensive product.

To each their own, though.

His main website has some sample jackets on sale but the style is too out there for me. Otherwise a kangaroo leather jacket would have been nice. I guess I’m not cool enough to rock these.
