MF Campus 36 in hide on hair; website accepts PayPal and code WELCOME5 gives additional 5% off. I thought about buying this to dye it black; otherwise I cannot pull this off. Maybe you can.

Going to hazard a guess based on photos and description, is this what a fake perfecto looks like?

Honestly the hide looks too good for it to be fake. It may be made for the JP market, and thus the numbering system is different. It’s possible to find fake stuff in JP but the hide is usually so bad, it’s easy to tell.

Here’s a fake Trojan from JP that I linked recently: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/finding-trojan-sportswear-company-1932.112468/post-3189762

The label looks like a weird print copy of the regular schott one though? And its made up of multiple panels which is also something cheaper brands do isn't it to cut on costs?

If you’re into Schott label dating, it does look like the last one on the right, third row, of the left image, from the linked thread:

I agree it looks like this, but it looks like that label has been copied printed onto another label on the jacket on ebay.. either way not sure id buy this one but sharing out of interest.

Lots of little details there screaming at even my untrained and inexperienced eyes

Same. Multi-planet chest, back and outward sleeves? Plus the belt looks cheap as hell. And I do like the side entry lapel pocket but I have never seen one on a Perfecto.

Besides, I believe you can get similar leather for half the price of this from a 1970s Sears The Leather Shop crosszip - actually, even better.

Still, I get the seller's frustration in the description. Buy it or don't buy it, but 200 USD is not a price that warrants hate mail.

What is it about this Cal...the leather around the collar is wearing (cracked) in a way I've never seen on one of these, and the inner lining issue. Still for $150 it's worth it for someone who can do the zipper and maybe re-line it.

That’s not the only problem. The leather looks cheap and isn’t typical of the thick Teacore hide of Cal. I guess Cal has hits and misses.
