Down the road (Rt. 66) from the Rest Haven above is the Trail's End Motel (still around, but now known as Rancho Court and rented as apartments).

Apparently gone now (I’ll have to drive by next time I’m in Springfield). This city has no respect for historic buildings despite marketing itself as “The Birthplace of Route 66”.

Long’s Park (later Memorial Park) in Springfield, Missouri circa 1925 — when camping in the city parks was still allowed. This was located just NE of Old City Hall (then the Federal Building) and south of the Greene County courthouse.
