Recommendations for WWII-style US Aviator sunglasses.

I’m looking for two pairs, one cheap pair for beating around and perhaps another in the Real McCoy’s price range. Any recommendations?

I was thinking the same thing. Instead of getting a super nice pair of Real McCoys and a cheap pair to beat up, just split the difference and get one pair of Ray Bans. That way they are nice enough, but if something happens to them I would have a mental breakdown.

Yeah, I know I spend a ridiculous amount on clothes and stuff, but I look at those and say, really, you spent that much on that.

For reference, I went with American Optical for my aviator sunglasses, a third the price, excellent customer service and 10x more durable than my old Ray bans. They are thicker and heavier. I heard they discounted the General MacArthur frame though.

Still if I was going to spend $600+ on sunglasses, I would go Persol 714s, way cooler than generic aviators in a novelty color.

I suppose he is the French president and those sunglasses are from a French company, so optics were obviously a factor (no pun intended).
