Sounds similar to an old hat repair manual from the early 30's i bought in digital form a couple years back... lots of interesting information in those old books and pamphlets

For anyone wanting to know all about the history of the Cavanagh Edge and exactly how it was made, you must read Brad Bowers' thread titled The Definitive Cavanagh Edge Primer.
A couple of fun facts in the article: To put a Cavanagh Edge on a hat increased the labor to make the hat by from 20 to 50 percent. One estimate was that hats with a Cavanagh Edge were only 2 to 3 percent of the hats made.
