Deutsches Fabrikat possibly 1930s. No company labels so most likely sourced by the shop Emil Fischer Dortmund. I found this Stiff Felt back in March of this year.

I always like seeing that Gannon

I always like seeing that Gannon Brent. How tall is that crown? I’m ordering a 5 3/4 inch and I’m a little nervous I might be in over my head.
I suspect you will be quite pleased with it Nathan. I will warn though.. that, for me at least small changes in proportion like that can at first feel greater than they appear to others. I guess a self conscious kind of thing. In time it tends to go diminish. Also.. 1/4 inch in crown weight can easily be absorbed into your crease. I think you’ll find in time the extra height will you more leeway in shaping your hat how you like.

Thanks Joe. I am no longer apprehensive and I believe you're quite right about it being easily absorbed into the crease.

So where was your jump-off point to Etna if not Taormina? I’m sure there are lots of options, I’m just curious. Taormina could be a trip in itself!

Good report on the Dunlap. I am in the market for my first vintage straw and will keep my eyes out for one.
Started from Linguaglossa, passing thorugh the actual village following Mareneve , which I'm unsure if it's its own placename or not, up the vulcano to the starting point Etna North. Would have liked to visit Toarmina, but just lacked the time.
