Wow, this looks so good! Love the rough out, back panel piece looks especially nice. That mouton collar though! Super cool jacket! Congrats @JMax
Thanks man. I cleaned the front panels and they look much better.

Alright, next then. Cause damn.Cal Rough-out
Awesome jacket. I’ve never seen one before. It’s in great shape, typical Cal build. Fits...except for my delts. Upper arms a bit tight. Bummer. So cool I’ll keep it. At least for now (it’s already spoken for if I decide to sell). I will give it a cleaning and post additional pictures soon. To the pics:

Edit:: The Angelus Bar and Brush really works wonders. As does Bick’s Suede Cleaner.
I won’t be wearing this one so will probably leave it alone. Still, I’m interested in Dannyk’s treatment.
@JMax as the link shows I used Huberds Shoe Grease. I’ve used it before, just at room temp and using my body heat off my fingers rubbed it in. This time I wanted to take it up a notch, so I heated up some water-not boiling, just warm-borderline hot...poured it in a bowl and placed the can of Huberds in the bowl. It melts it down into a very greasy but very thin almost liquid. That way I could make sure to cover every inch and get every crevice. Mixed the **** out of the can and applied it. I’ll have to take some follow up photos of how they look now a bit later. Basically the same as the follow up pic but maybe a bit different and always nice to do a month or two follow up. Not sure how a jacket would work....but the boots turned out killer.
Details? As in how old is it? is that black cxl fqhh? Etc.. thanks. Looks fantastic on you!X-post from the Aero J-106 thread.

Thanks. Seriously looks great in this photo. Can’t wait to see more as it ages and breaks in.Received from Aero in March, so about a month old, worn less than 10 times.
Black CXFQHH, silver snaps, brass zips, Rob Roy tartan wool lining. Size 38 with +1" in the shoulders, +1.5" in the arms and a 24" length in the body (which I believe is -1.5" from stock).
Sheepskin jacket. No label. Probably 30s? Is there any way to date the Crown zip?

Maybe he wore a bear-skin west over it during the cold seasonI assume this wasn't intended to be bi-colored originally? Wild that the sleeves and the body faded so differently. They must have used two very different hides or something for the body and the sleeves.
I think you're right, the sleeves probably had the same color as the body. The sleeve creases still show some of the original color.I assume this wasn't intended to be bi-colored originally?
