Well, spring is here, so I decided to blend with dogwood ()and bought a Lost Worlds collab suede trucker on fleabay. Stu is not building anything half-way - this is a sturdy suede, stiff and heavy. The jacket is short, but if any jacket can be forgiven for being short it is the trucker. I have to say I quite like it, it is out there color-wise, but what the heck...

Love it !!Short jackets are fine with a front drop. A jacket that leaves one’s belt exposed in the front looks like a matador’s jacket to me. I don’t think altering one’s wardrobe to accommodate a jacket makes much sense. This Herc I had was 24” in back but the 2” front drop made it wearable (barely)...If it were blunt cut I may have been asked where I parked my bull.

I like vintage jackets too but I have learned I don’t need to compromise my pants to find ones that fit the way I prefer. While many vintage styles were indeed shorter than modern repros, many were not. Comes down to personal comfort I suppose.Well... considering how much all of us likes vintage and vintage inspired jackets, I disagree. I think it makes perfect sense for us to wear higher rise trousers and increase the number of vintage jackets that we can wear without looking like matadors. Of course:

I have too much $ in expensive denim but more importantly, I just really don’t like high rise pants, particularly the way they feel. That said, I don’t wear hip huggers either. Mid rise is my preference.Absolutely, it's personal preference. I just find it's such an easy adjustment to make and instantly the number of vintage jackets that you can comfortably wear increases by a lot. But hey, not complaining, more matador jackets available for me![]()
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. I think there's a few styles and more importantly the "fun" jackets that can break this rule.
Wow! Amazing! Those longer halfbelts are an underated style.I’m tying a bow on two threads. Got my vintage Windward back from Dena and as usual the work was flawless! The jacket fits me better with the shearling having been replaced and it no longer smells like wet dog. This is next winters go to for sure.
