Yeah, if I was in Europe, I'd be focusing on Thedi. Too bad there's not a lot of used ones out there yet. I was on that site last night, and there's like 5 end game jackets on there for me.
***** Ivan!!Ignore this post and pretend it never happened. I have nothing on the way.
You just have to accept that anything you buy from the UK will have a lot of money on top to add when paying customs. Either accept it or move on from the UK market. That's how it is, thank the brexiters!
It's not that I am unwilling to pay import taxes for the stuff I buy online, I was fully aware I was going to get hit with some additional charges on that jacket, but my issue in this case was with criminal organizations like Pitney Bowes, which is what I had unexpectedly ran into with this last transaction and I'm guessing that since they already had a strong presence established throughout Europe prior to Brexit, any purchase from UK is destined to become nightmare.
These firms are scum and they employ scum. I've spent hours on the phone talking to scum.

How do you like JL's crosszip? (You went to horween hide right?)Gonna order a new Schott 618 in time for March Madness. I dropped another size down to a 44. This jacket will be patched up. I am torn between the horse and steer. The steer has old glory, but love the shine of the horse. Not fond of the imported materials tag. I've had 2 horsehide jackets from Schott and it rocks, but no American flag inside. I have no experience with their steerhide, but it has that nice American flag inside. Any comments on Schott's steerhide?
the horsehide I believe comes from Italy or Spain but is constructed in USA. So that's why it doesn't have the full blown US flag. The 618 steer is really stiff and top coat. I have one I just got from the 70s and it's barely broken in. But once it gets there, it's certainly nice. On the other hand, my 118 is a dream as far as leather. Aniline, really soft and gooey after just a few wears and a rain session. I'd put that up against anything in my collection. But they run big, so if you 44 in 618, you a 42 or even a 40 in 118.Gonna order a new Schott 618 in time for March Madness. I dropped another size down to a 44. This jacket will be patched up. sure. I'll wear it tomorrow and take some photos outside. That one I bought new last year, actually almost year ago. I bought it just as Covid breakout started. Was in the LA store and talking to the guys about whether this "illness" was real or not LOL. Wow how things changed. Can we see the 118? I really like the schotts that you score like that 641xx
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. sure. I'll wear it tomorrow and take some photos outside. Here's an older photo I found:

oh yeah, I know it's real, for sure.I remember this jacket, so the 118 is a newer jacket with a full aniline leather. I thought for a moment that it was an older jacket. It's real, it's really real. I caught it bad too lol
Hard to actually say if true or not on photos but that's how my black aniline shinki from FL looks like. Smooth leather with fine grain.
oh yeah, I know it's real, for sure.
I wouldn't call it a grain monster. More fine, spider web like. I just like the way it feels and it's super comfortable. My Enfield has the same feel but is not comfortable as the 118. Basically like lamb skin, but like 20x thickness LOL. I'm starting to get some good creases on the sleeves and more body forming. I'll try and take from same angle to see the progression hopefully. Grain wise, my 519 is probably best Schott. Has the waxy cowhide. Really popped after I dunked it in water to shrink some.
edit: btw, you might be thinking about the 618 I just got, but is really a 70s model. I posted that one last week. That one is still rigid and overall very light. But I love the cut on it. A touch short, but I'll deal with it. But has a smaller belt and more taper on sleeves, body, etc. My 118 is a heavy jacket, but it wears like a dream. Think I said it before, but I think it's my bury me in it jacket. Especially if I can get some wears on it and get some patina going.
