How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Here is a Schott I owned with an aftermarket collar! Have one sewn on your jacket. View attachment 309165 View attachment 309166
That's the one I was thinking of. Love the slanted chestpocket and collar. I will do some research in having a collar added.

The only difference I can see between them is that mine has a shearling lining instead of the quilted in yours.

Ouch, a tough break, but I hope you found/find a new one who likes leather jackets. Or at least who realises there are worse things for a man to be addicted to than leather jackets... my current gf has even tentatively suggested she might want to get a jacket for herself (she keeps trying to borrow one of mine - a quite niche beaten up Crowtree cafe racer), so the gradual brainwashing can work ;) )

I don't plan on getting involved with anyone again, to be honest. It's been enough time now that I don't really miss a single aspect of a relationship so no worries anymore anyone's going to be bothered by my hobbies. :)

In the Netherlands there's this (in)famous tv show interview from 1987 where a guy was asked what's more important to him, his car or his wife. His answer: "there are more than enough women but my Mercedes 450SL is rare". His wife is sitting next to him.

This reminds me of when The Buffalo Sabres (NHL Hockey Team) were good in the early 2000s. I was at a friends house watching a playoff game when we scored in overtime to win. My friend and I started running around screaming and jumped out on his awning covered deck...when we must have startled a birds nest a baby bird literally fell out of the nest, hit my friend in the chest and landed at his feet. We ran inside and yelled for his mom. She started making a commotion over the baby bird (who was just fine and ended up back in the nest eventually) when his dad turned the tv up to hear and yelled to his wife “Kathy, how many baby birds are on this planet? How many Stanley Cups are there?!? That’s right just one cup.”

The Iron Heart sizing misadventure continues...my XL (42”) lefty OD arrived and it fits like a 38”-40”. Already ordered the **xl. For the life of me I can’t figure out why they struggle with consistent sizing in the same damn pattern and the same damn material. It’s a ******** cotton jacket ffs. But it’s soooo good. Hoping the 44” is a better fit.

I hear you Ton, I have returned at least three IH type 3 jackets for this reason. And just when I think I have their sizing figure it out I miss some small detail and order the wrong size again. I also agree that when everything comes together IH is hard to beat!

Agreed. On the plus side my wife just brought home this Levi’s type III she picked up at a thrift store for a shoot and dropped a whopping $7.99 on it. It’s a size too small for me but I called dibs on it. Normally not a fan of this kind of faux distressing but this one feels pretty cool. Like dried up seaweed.

It looks great! Almost like it's got linen.

I sold that coat years ago.

Yes, that was an aftermarket sew on

The only difference I can see between them is that mine has a shearling lining instead of the quilted in yours.

Is that an addition from Dena or JL?

bought it that way, it was kinda of a hack job, but the hack was mostly hidden

Was that the one I sold you!? Dang man I should’ve kept that!

you sold me that? As interesting as it looks it had some issues with the shoulders/upper arms. One reason I stay away from old Schott jackets. I liked the collar more than the buyers at the time.

YEs! Hope the initial fit is good! I'm most likely going to have the brown cxl JL re sleeved, now I know I'm an inside sleeve zipper closure type of guy. Plus the sleeves on the jacket feels too big from the elbow down to the cuff.

Haha, funny you say that. On my initial order I spec’ed inside sleeve zippers and later changed it to cuffs. I’m still on the fence. It’s annoying having to zip the sleeves whenever I put a jacket on, but unzipped they can look like sleeve flairs. Regular cuffs in heavy CXL sometimes run on the back of my hand to the point of bruising.

I had that same issue with the cuffs on my black cxl Aero before and it was a little annoying. Agreed, it looks good zipped or unzipped if you add a little design to the end of the sleeves.MThe zipper sleeves on the black JL jacket is perfect and really well made, it really helps with the rolls/creases so I want to emulate that but with the thicker cxl.

My latest addition is this Japanese made RRL hickory striped unlined halfbelt. It's an unusual halfbelt design since it has no side panels. One could say it's a combination of a chore jacket and a half belt. Judging by the label it's from 2000 or earlier. I love it. This will be a great summer jacket.

I was looking for a light summer leather jacket for some time and came across this Stewart 40's Sports Jacket in washed calf skin. The jacket still has the old Stewart label and was produced about 8 years ago. It's a NOS item. The quality of the older Stewart leather jackets was very good and the cuts were also great. One of my first leather jackets in the late 80s was also a stewart in a water buffalo leather, I still dream of this leather today! Unfortunately I had to pass this jacket on for some sizing reason.

I finally effin found the Sportclad in my size and good condition. I was mindlessly searching Etsy and Ebay with my 5 year old boy resting his head on my shoulder. When I saw the listing, I almost ended up slinging him off the bed. Scared him too. Too bad little man. Too bad.

I leave mine open just enough so that i can put the jacket on and off without having to touch them, it's never really been a problem.
I also do that so that the leather puller doesn't touch my hand:
