It finally arrived! My first customer J-106 from Aero arrived last week! They did an amazing job, as being a bigger guy finding a good fit is almost impossible. I am so very excited I cant stop wearing it around the house. Every pillow, seat cushion, and chair smells like Horween FQHH heaven! My Highwayman is getting jealous for sure!

Wearing my reworked (slimmed down at the waist/hem) JL brown cxl jacket today. Also dropped off the Aero STF BL tobacco badalassi at JL to be slimmed down and have removable tan mouton collar placed

@Jin431 Great looking jacket and perfect fit. I really like this slim jacket design, pocket placement and collar shape. Good idea to add a removable mouton collar...I'm sure it looks very good. When seeing so many beautiful JL jackets I'm more and more regretting that I didn't visit JL store during my combined business trip + vacation to Silicon Valley + SFO last year October. On the other hand I really enjoy watching pictures from your, Ton's and others JL jackets!

@Robbie79 the battered tan CR looks great on you. Is that new? How does battered leather feel to wear? All your jackets are so mean looking, the fit is incredibly perfect and the leather looks gorgeous.

Thank you again. I was lucky the collar design they have on their new pattern was able to be transplanted to my jacket project and the slimmer version makes it so much easier to wear! The vertical chest pocket really grew on me, I didn't like it so much at first when I received the jacket. The aero stf BL should be ready in 3 weeks, just in time for the winter season here (not that we get a real winter though).

I know JL has always been a good maker but I do notice JL stepping up their game with better construction and more options with the leather they use. They will only get better and I'm so fortunate I live so close by to them. That's too bad that you weren't able to visit the shop then but maybe in the future when things are a little better and you are back in the SF Bay Area you can visit them. Ill be happy to buy you a drink too. Cheers

Freewheelers Dust Bowl. This one has a couple vertical creases by the neck that is from what I think is from the design of the wool band collar. Arm holes are slightly pitched forward also. It immediately creased like that when I put it on for the first time and on the hanger as well. Just a strange consequence from the collar design.

I have really come to like this jacket and it feels great since shoulder width and chest is bang on for me. Those creases are odd but I don't look at myself while wearing it.

@Jin431 Thanks for your positive feedback. As the name "battered" already says it has a nice vintage look and it has a very waxy feel (you could also add buttered to battered IMO) which is completely different to any other leathers I've handled so far. Aero describes it as medium weight HH but actually the leather thickness and jacket heaviness isn't different to their CXL HH. If you want something totally different to Badalassi and Horween stuff, go for Aero's battered tan HH as you won't regret it. Right out of the box the leather feels rather stiff and needs some break in time like Horween CXL (Vicenza HH doesn't really need breakin time and Vicenza has a much softer hand and leather is thinner and more medium weight). It's not a new jacket but I unfortunately have worn it 4-5 times so far...I guess I should wear it more often during Spring and Fall.
Thanks for inviting me for a dring in SF - as several of my business partners are located in the Bay Area, I'm sure there will be an opportunity after the C-19 travel restrictions are abolished hopefully in 2021.
Cheers,
Robbie
