What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

From today's Thursday Harley ride north of Perth Western Australia.
Pulled up the bikes at the roadside to get the regenerating bush after the bushfires of recent.
A bit of winter rain and off it goes again. The Australian bush is fire "resistant" , some plants have become "fire dependent"
Grainy shot taken by 'phone across a 2 lane blacktop.
Jacket today is my Schott 641HH Café racer. Nice and close fitting for a cool day run. 5C start 16C at 1pm.

Did you ask for deleting the belt loops? What kind of change of pattern did you ask for? Very handsome jacket!

Hey muscle,
I removed the belt loops, the back dip, the badge holder, and the collar snaps, also removed the sheepskin from the wrists and had it replaced with deerskin like on the Leathertogs.
I also had him use a Crown main zipper and some no 10 nickel C&C zippers for wrists and pockets.
I asked for two collars, one brown, one fairfield (natural)

The pattern changes were made on the remake.
The original was a regular 42L and was too baggy for me in the waist, he remade the jacket with a 42 upper part (shoulders and arms) but going down to a 40 below the pits.
This is actually the new standard pattern now, so older CHPs will be baggier than new ones.
Old pattern looked really "bulbous" and rounded on me, new one is trim and V shaped, but without being as intensely trim and short as a Cal.

I will post pics comparing both patterns when it is broken in and ready to review...

^ Now that's a proper zip. Can you get that gauge zipper with Aero horsehide jackets, or just LW?

It is a beast. Smooth too. As far I know, only Langlitz and LW have large gauge Crown zips in stock. But I don’t know much, to be clear.

I couldn’t get Aero/TB to install a large gauge zipper on my Chips.

Thanks Robbie. It is 4+oz, jacket weighs a bit over 7 lbs. But it is the recent, more pliable out-of-the box leather. Really easy to wear. My older LWs are much stiffer.

It's a size 10 spring loaded Crown, i have them on all my LW and they are without a doubt the finest zippers i have tried. They are NOS from the 40s-50s i think and are not made anymore.
Technically you could put one on anything, it's only a zipper, I know Langlitz has a few in store, i guess you just have to find one, they are not common.
LW sells them for $250, i think Langlitz is $175 or something like that, expensive but definitely worth it.

Edit: i am pretty sure Aero would refuse to use a zipper this big, they love tiny no5 ones. But i guess you could have Johnson make you a jacket with one, althought i think you might have to source the zipper yourself.

That looks fantastic! It's exactly the sort of fit and look I'm trying to find, which is how I came across this site and all of the great info I've been finding here. I started out with something like this from Taylor Stitch, but unfortunately it doesn't fit my shape so I'm looking for alternatives. Little did I know the rabbit hole this site would lead to, unfortunately my wife isn't too impressed as it's just like when I got into watches haha.
