Strictly not a suit, but German sport coat from Fastuni

Nice combo of the DB sportcoat with the beret. Gives that 1940's intellectual vibe.

Latest arrival - the one with the internal elastic band I shared earier, a very simple 4x2. Looks late 40s, early 50s to my eye. I'd say it's not particularly high quality, still a very serviceable addition to the collection.

You might check the trouser seams whether they have been narrowed to go with fashion.

Thanks Fastuni. The lapels was what drew me to it - I'm not sure if it is usual (certainly the first time I've noticed it), but I can feel stays in the construction of the lapels to help keep its shape!

I've checked with trouser seams and there are no seam allowance to indicate they have been taken in (unless they cut off the excess).

I saw the blue 3pc you listed yesterday - hope you find a good home for it - its certainly a lovely example of 40s German tailoring. The snaps on the lapels are a fantastic feature.

Metal stays in peak lapels is something I have seen on 2 suits. Got to tame those fangs sometimes!

I have been looking for a grey SB peaked lapel 3 piece for years, so when this was offered to me, I had to snap it up. Will post wear pictures once it arrives - I love the liner - particularly the waistband construction.

Reminds me very much of my two piece suit in terms of cut and fabric,
which probably also once included a vest:

Do you know where it comes from?
When it arrives, we should compare details again.

What I've already noticed:
The dart on the chest of your jacket is straight down
(as usual in the 30s I think),
on mine a little sloped backwards (older cut?).

Sorry for the absence - the suit arrived a while back, but I've been taking my time getting the sleeves let down. Will post detailed pictures as soon as possible.

On another note, a very hard to resist offer came up - a zippered 3/4 belt sport coat. The fabric reminds me of the belt back Rudie shared a couple years back (though not as nice as - this one is missing all the pleated details).

German 1930-40's navy pinstripe DB in mint condition.
Tailor made from heavy worsted wool.
Size 38 Regular.

Too bad it is a bit too small for me... but I have already two blue DB with pinstripes anyway.

Added it to the Classifieds... maybe sonething for you gents.

1930's German bespoke three piece DB suit made from pitch-black wool Barathea, like a good tuxedo.

1910s - early 30's German brown thornproof trousers with flat front and fishtail back.

Sport suit with saddle and pleats.
Fabric is a very subtle steely grey wool herringbone waterproofed with "Imprägnol".
According to period magazines this was increasingly popular around 1941.





And another sportcoat with fancy back.

Really wonderful, Fastuni! Great fabric and the cut is even better:
Apart from the back I especially like such lapels with the rounded corners.
The best thing I've seen in a long time...
