If it fit I would probably be banging my head on a wall trying to come up with an offer I could live with. Certainly needs work but once done this would be a great jacket. I love these old straight zip police jackets. Another part of me is happy the fit is off so I can avoid the rabbit hole.

It would fit me. But the missing belt loops are a big issue. Plus some dope sewed down the collar ends. I know this could be fixed but repair costs can add up.

Looks like Horsehide. Also looks to be from the 40s with the zipper pull and the cloth lined interior. Not sure it is a Taubers, if so it is an early one. They started around 1941. The cuffs, back yoke and side laces are different from jackets I've owned.
