I might be wrong but I don't think this is 1940s. It looks like a newer jacket with some 1940s stylistic cues.

I had some doubts as to the origins and finishing, but the leather looks interesting and that plain liner don't look very modern.

Maybe not "modern" but perhaps made within the past 30 years? The zipper pulls don't seem vintage to me.

First pic it looks really great, see the rest of the pics and it is a pile of ****. Looks like the cheap jackets you used to able to get in the multitude of leather shops in brick lane, east london

The mannequin he uses for styling is not the most flattering of shapes for any of the jackets he has for sale so I admit it is a shot in the dark as it comes to fit

Second pic you can see the fake patina, the label may have been removed on purpose to conceal its modern and what looks like a YKK or chinese zip

It's not, unfortunately. It's now a Zombie company selling substandard jackets made over seas and is owned by some clueless guys.

In its time from 1983 on, I had many jackets made for me by Mars. Damn I miss them. I don't remember their tartan lining it was usually black cotton drill or satin.

Perrty sure this is a orchard/branded mfg jacket [ they made contract G1's and a2's, police and mc jackets] going by the thick belt and brass zip, they made pretty solid jackets and very cheap at that price.
