Exploring old Jerusalem. Magnificent place. So much awe inspiring history. Love this hat too (brand is Bugatti). It can really take a beating and then bounce right back into shape. Once had a heavy backpack set on top of it, going through security. Weather was often on the cool side. So I often found myself wearing both the leather jacket and the fedora. Would you believe that I received not one “Indiana Jones” comment the whole time? It will take me a while to process this trip; it is a complicated place, to say the least. Happy New Year!

Neat picture, looks like home. I always carry a walking stick or staff on my ventures too - those sidehill hardwood leaves can be awfully slippery, especially with all the rain we've had this season. Hope you manage to get in many great hikes in the coming year!

I got a new camera for Christmas this year and took this picture from a hike I took a couple days ago. Having a new camera will be incentive (like I really needed it) to get out and do more hiking. Well, maybe it'll be incentive to post more pictures to this thread.

I tried doing a little experimenting with B&W photography today. Digital cameras are great, but no matter how hard I try i can't capture the "look" of real film photography. Oh well, it was fun to try and to get out and do some hiking.

Any advice, gentlemen? When trying to load picture from my phone, I get an error that the file is too large for the server. I'm totally hopeless with modern tech, have no idea how to reduce the size...

When I get the same notice, I take the photo and using a simple photo editing program, reduce the size of the photo.

Thanks! It's 1910's vintage Belgian F.A.I.R model ''Dictator". Basic cheap hammer side by side, but it works and I love the name!

It "fits" your photo well. I have a double barrel L.C. Smith that dates to the late 1920s to early 1930s and an old single barrel Spencer from about the same time.

Older model shotguns are hard to beat.

They sure are. My other vintage ******* is a Browning, well FN actually, Auto-5 from the '20s. 90 years old and still going strong.
