Didn't have a problem with mine as opposed to RMC or Flathead, pretty sure it works for most of us

Sure! Actually got this jacket a few years ago when Tenjin Works was still relatively unknown. I was in Tokyo and wanted to get something no matter what. Went to RMC and Flathead and found that nothing worked for me, so decided to visit Tenjin Works.
The staff was very friendly, so I remember asking about the leather, and they explain to me that they chose their vegetable tanned cowhide specifically because of the way it ages. I went through the colours then tried one of their jackets, it just felt right and comfortable from the get go. Easy to move thanks to the action back (is it the right term?), and very comfortable.
The leather is feels very nice, heavier than RMC but nowhere near CXL. It's also soft and could not stand on its own, but still holds its shape quite nicely.
@Superfluous , sorry not good at describing leather yet, but this would probably be at your threshold in terms of weight. It is still comfortable and will age fast. I would say worth considering for you.
