Yep, it’s really that blue. This is the last of several Selentinos I bought last year. There were some crazy vivid colors. If the felt looks smooth it’s a trick of the camera...think modern Stetson Royal quality.

The thermometer says 86 degrees F. So I went to the catacombs of straw, and picked this Panama Hats Direct product. A Fino fino quality, re-finished by Art Fawcett to include a vintage ribbon. Darn that Al Gore!!

In Virginia Beach, International Workers' Day 2018 saw the arrival of two boxes from Texas.

@Bill Hughes was thinning his herd and, in an act of extraordinary kindness, he thought that my house might be a suitable habitat for six members of his flock.

Just in time, too. I've been worrying about my sorry lack of warm weather hats. And three of the new residents are straws.

As the heat wave kicks in today, I'll be keeping cool under this marvelous old Dobbs Milan.

I think I remember him. (yeah, Suuuurre I do...) Wouldn't it be something if he was in one the photos (Kodachrome) I have from that trip?! Gotta dig out the Carousel.

Today it’s a very special Borsalino to me. This is the 2nd time i’ve worn it. The first was on my Grandaughter’s 1st day last July. This is an Ecosan in Pervinca (periwinkle). Some hats just sit right. This is one of them. A wonderful hat. Luckily it came with an exact twin in brown. Just wish i had two heads.

Excellent start with straw, Chas! I didn't get the memo on VS finished hats, though, so I grabbed the NW Hats alternative!
