Leather jacket and a matching pair of shoes/boots

I'd say burgundy is a good choice. It goes well with everything

I usually find that a rough approximation between colours or a mid-point colour looks best to me. I would feel really-self-coscious wearing a cordovan jacket with shoes/boots of the same colour- I normally wear either tan chukkas or a bashed-up pair of brown DMs with it. I reckon a pair of tan Loakes can go ok with brown, too. With black, I wear either seal brown Blundstones or the aforementioned DMs (they're chelsea boots)- but, as my black Stockman is gradually fading to brown, I think it works.

Just my opinion

Shoes and belt should compliment (not necessarily match) each other in colour and formality ie: shinny or matte. You don't wear a shinny dress belt with casual shoes or boots.

Jacket should be of the same formality in whatever colour.

When I had black leather jackets I wore either black or brown shoes or boots; same with the belt. Didn't bother me if they clashed. Nowadays I no longer own black leather jackets nor black footwear. I have two brown leather jackets with which I wear brown boots or shoes and brown belts. Deduce what you will out of that!

I'm lucky to get two matching socks together let alone a jacket and boots. I say wear what you want, be it matching or not, tucked or untucked etc...
