No, just a plain crepe sole.....for $500 it should have been gilt edged!Did they have crepe soles with that ugly red stripe??

they were Prada desert boots marked down from $700 to a waaaay more affordable $500....and yep they were just your everyday, nothing special desert boot. Needless to say I took the high road and did not buy....left them for some other deserving fellow.
I've found crepe to be reasonably durable. Some brands less than others, but my Clarks seem to last a pretty good while, at least with their chunkier soled models.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Any experience with the Astorflex Desert Boots? I'm looking at an alternative to Clarks as they don't fit me well (too wide):

I'm also considering the Red Wing Weekender:

Nordstrom is running a sale on the Red Wings, but they are a sand nubuck leather versus the nappy suede which is what I'm after.
Anything else to consider?
None as yet, though I can see how that might happen as the centre of gravity is rather high... I went down half-a-size to a good fit, so my feet aren't slopping around in them.@Sloan1874
And how much ankle-rolling over on the Wallabees?
