Here is an interesting 24 min video on Charles Goodnight & Oliver Loving. I didn't realize that Goodnight had been a member of the Texas Ranger troop that rescued Cynthia Ann Parker after 25 yrs with the Comanche Indians.

Jim Crow Chiles was the basis for the fictional character of Jack Bull Chiles from the movie "Ride With the Devil".
Jim Crow Chiles was the son of a 2-term state senator. He served under Gen JO Shelby & later rode for Quantrill. He survived the war only to be killed in a *** fight on the town square at Independence, Mo. Chiles had been the victor & responsible for deaths in 13 previous *** fights on that same town square.

Mr. David Blair, (1874 - 1955) Second Officer for the RMS Titanic. He was not on board that ill fated voyage however. He was temporarily assigned to another ship while a new Second Officer was receiving his training aboard the RMS Titanic in Blair's place.
