Thanks Mike! It means a lot coming from a pro such as yourself. And thanks for the props on the table. It was custom made by a guy over in Atlanta back around 2000. It's one of my most cherished possessions.

That's really cool, Bushman. Definitely something worth hanging onto. I'll bet it makes for some good conversations when folks see it. How big is that chunk of wood?

As you can see, they've got the tools to do that kind of work.

I included my hand to give a sense of size, and this isn't a particularly big example.

Thanks, fellas! dh66, It's about 15 inches high, around 7 or 8 inches in diameter. It's typical log sized.

This is a set of old industrial steel number stamps I found in Ripley, Mississippi a while back. The characters are 1 1/2" x 1 1/2", and the stamps themselves are 1 3/4" x 1 3/4", and weigh over two pounds a piece. They are too big to be useful, so they have become home decor.
