Actually, dragging the thread by its neck back on topic, Eggleman's jacket, judging by the loss of colour on the pocket lip, looks as if it was one made by ST when he was properly employed by Aero back in the mid-90s. So you're fine there, man.
Personally, I'm over the moon about the sale. Unfortunately, the courts still have the stock clogging up their store rooms, so it may be a while yet. I'm told that when they were bringing it down from Aero, it filled the back of a transit van floor-to-ceiling and even then they had stick stuff into the front as well.

To quote the trial:

So, we're talking: 160 jackets (75 leather ones - more than twice the number in Aero's showroom prior to KC's return). Also some 159 pairs of Levi's, 47 sets of Lee jeans,18 pairs of limited edition boxed Wrangler jeans.

Basically, we're talking about a pop-up shop!

Anyone who says that "If you don't like this thread, you shouldn't read it" tells me everything that I need to know; that it is has deviated from the spirit of the rules and should be called off-side and reined in. The fact that I read it tells me so.
Alas, the referees and linesmen aren't here (I believe) so there's no policing that is evident (to me) and I am just trying to respectfully and politely appeal for some resumption of decorum.

Aero has had a PR field day and is about to have a grand sale and will do well and people here will get good jackets - and cheaply - to post.

It begs the question: What else do you want?

As for Will lauders reputation he’s brought this onto himself and to his family, I’ve had to see the pain and distress my family have been through, my mother has aged 20 years in the last 2 years and the last 5 months has been in and out of hospital.
The “grand sale” you talk of is all items bought and paid for by Aero and then stolen by Will Lauder, We are now forced into selling the recovered goods at heavily reduced prices, these goods were almost never recovered and we will never know exactly how much was taken. The sale will never recover everything.
As for the PR, we would rather none of this whole sorry story had ever happened.

This thread is poison and runs counter to the spirit of TFL.
As was stated a while ago by Sloan himself, this case would always leave as many unanswered questions as it answers - and in an attempt to fill in the unknowns, the rife speculation on peoples' private lives and their character is not pertinent to this Outerwear section.
The rules set forth by the bartender clearly state that TFL is a place for people who have a shared disdain for crass modern sensibilities (those within which we all unfortunately now live and are bombarded with every day) and prefer to embrace the values of quality, style and class of yesteryear - and civility. This is why we all find ourselves here in the end. This engenders bonhomie from disparate people but with shared specific interests and passions and, though there will be disagreements of course, these would be made through respectful and civil debate. This thread is sorely lacking that, as it has throughout. Others would disagree and indeed, have done so in a manner that is both uninviting and I dare say militant (I have just chosen to delete my example here. I will not point fingers as that will not be helpful to what I am trying to say here).
I enjoy TFL and come here to relax and share what I have and what I know - and hope to learn from others and enjoy the discussions as I go - and I fear for the many lurkers (a silent majority, if you will, when one considers the numbers of members against the numbers who post) as, like anybody with eyes in their head and are able to read, they will view this thread for its unsportsmanlike behaviour and thus feel a sense of trepidation or reluctance for posting anything in future (and new postings are the lifeblood of any forum) for fear of how they may be received.

Gentlemen, your heretic has been publicly burned at the stake and his reputation along with it - and the dancing on his ashes should desist at once. It is not de riguer to the rules and is unbecoming of this good place. Can you please show some magnamanity?
It is my hope that this very sorry episode can be put behind us and we can return to the gentlemanly spirit of esprit de corp (squadron spirit, if you will)… and for those bitter few who cannot, I hope a spirit of civil detente can prevail.

Somehow, we seem to be losing sight of who the real victims are here.
As Denny has felt compelled to point out, it is the Calders who have had to bear the strain of the investigation and its fall-out for the past three years.

Remember, even at sentencing,
1. Lauder was still insisting on his innocence, despite all the evidence pointing to the contrary.
2. He was still making up his evidence in court - yes, making it up. On the stand he suddenly claimed that taking all that stuff was part of a deal struck with Ken. This forced the prosecution to recall KC, who made a six hour round trip from his home to rebut this new fantasy.
3. Lydia had to give evidence when she was so frail that she was given dispensation to remain seated in the witness box
4. Every business dealing since 2012 has been carried out under the shadow of this court case. There have been sly insinuations made about Aero, and they must have been hard to bear.

Hide 'n' Seek, I think that... I don't think this is what Standy By meant at all, that you guys ever had it easy or that you've ever had a field day. God knows it wasn't so. It's just that he, same as myself and a few others I guess, doesn't particularly enjoy watching people reveling at anyone's misfortune - and I'm not saying this is something anyone ITT was doing, but it's just that some of the posts definitely give off such impression - same as I am sure your family doesn't really want to see WL suffer as well. It was a horror reading about what has happened to your company and to your family and their life's work, but it is by the same empathy that makes me feel sorry for WL at this point - not just because he's going to jail, but because of every bad decision he had ever made. He's done so much harm to your family, there's no denying this, but I'm sure you would rather none of this ever happened, if you know what I mean. From what I understood, the man was a close friend with you guys and sure, he did what he did, but I'm sure you would rather just let it all go now that it's all over, and forget any of it ever happened, and just move on to a better tomorrow - which is the point Stand By was trying to make. More for your sake than WL's.

Exactly...and now this thread is swinging too far to that side of the issue. From one extreme to the other. Angry exaggerated outbursts to elaborate scolding about how others should react. I tend to look at this deliberate mess as some proven prosecution delivered, but much more deception and fraud lurking in the background that may sadly never face a just resolve.

I was trying to figure out how to word a reply when you popped in and posted. The idea that this is somehow good publicity and that the fire sale is a positive for you is totally laughable. Most of us know better and would much rather you and your family have been spared this entire mess, as the company already had a very high reputation when it was handed to Will Lauder to operate. I don't know one lick about Scottish law, but here in the U.S. we speak often about a director's fiduciary duty to his investors. Even without the theft he failed all of the shareholders miserably. Your forced sale of stolen goods will only recoup a fraction of the loss, which goes well beyond just the theft.

Yes HD. This gray area (and I'm not going to play naive, we can all figure out what happened here) is what emboldens people to say we should all just be quiet now, but as you note, justice has been FAR from served at this point.

Denny, I can't apologize enough to you for my e-mails to you last year. I feel so embarrassed. I didn't have a clue as to how serious Aero's situation was.

I know that some people want to see this thread wrapped up, and closed.
I know that some people think there is a mob mentality thing going on.

If Aero were to post here and say, 'Hey guy's, give it a break', I'd respect their wishes.

I think that for me personally, as a customer, this trial has made it clear to me that there were individuals who couldn't be trusted with my money.
I think members need to remember that after all, these people were ready to defraud you too (in fact, they may have defrauded you already- I don't know what you bought, and when you bought it).

Another thing is that Will Lauder's employer, Alexander Leather has been seeking to change the historical record to distance itself from implication in Will Lauder's wrong doing (as Superfluous has shown), and in doing so, has criticized the Lounge. Do Lounge members want to assist them with that? Or do Lounge members want to ensure that the historical record stands available for all to see and judge, with no risk of revisionism?

Alexander Leathers has made allegations about Aero sending customers a 'slam' e-mail. Still nobody has received a copy of that, have they?
They also said that they would refer queries to their legal team. How many times have I asked them to clarify the origin of their patterns, and yet, no reply.
