Have you seen all the neon colors on cars these days? Ford even has a car called Neon, with said colors on it. Neon Lime anyone?

I bet that sells like hotcakes. lol lol

Black helps break it up but it is still green.

You have mentioned my favorite colors for automobiles from the past.
I once had my car painted with "Ford Dawn's Grey".

To me it was a perfect match for the car which was of a light/pale olive.

But I never would've known to use this paint until I saw a Ford in this color.

Would you know why this color is called Dawn's Grey ? No big deal, just curious.

As "racing green" was Jaguar's racing color - was this an original color option for the car when new?

While I agree with the general feel toward green cars expressed here overall, the exception, for me, is Jaguar racing green - on the right car (mainly Jaguar sports cars) - it looks outstanding.

Growing up, our family had a '67 Olds Vista-Cruiser station wagon in "seafoam green." I remember that car well.

My Dad had a 1973 Ranchero in Light Avocado, with matching interior. It was hideous.

We had a turquoise '64 Chevy when I was a teenager -- not precisely green, but greeny enough. Going back even further, my grandfather drove a dark green '48 Ford pickup truck for a very long time -- for some reason most of the pickup trucks I knew as a kid were some variety of green. Except for my uncle's, which was bright yellow.

We also had a powder-blue '71 Ford LTD for about six months, until it caught on fire in the driveway.

My mom had a green late 60s Impala when I was a kid, but I myself have never owned a green car. That's not from any kind of prejudice against them, it's just how it's always worked out. I'd happily drive any of the above green vehicles.

I do own a gold one, or maybe it qualifies as brown. My '61 Galaxie is a Ford factory color called 'palomino'. With it's colonial white top, I think it makes for a nice looking ride.

You point out examples of what I was saying about 50s car manufacturers having more sense than 70s car manufacturers. Those "green" cars were likely termed other colors that just plain old ugly green. They were seafoam and other muted green colors---pastels. That 1956 Chevy is a Pincrest green and a Sherwood green. Both don't jump out at you like:

My 1990 Colony Park had an electrical fire in the B-Pillar once, too.

Gee, it was 47 years old at the time. :doh: I'll give it a pass. You have to make sure those carbs don't leak and are adjusted right.

In the B-pillar?! Oh geez! Was it green too?
