Anyone out there with any info. on Levis 505 jeans and did Levis ever
produce a 502 Shrink To Fit model c. 1972?

Seem to recall an ad in the magazines around that time.

I used to buy 502s back in the 60's. They were exactly the same as shrink-to-fit 501s, but with zip flies. In the UK at least, they were far more popular than 501s. The hype surrounding 501s came later, via some slick advertising.

Current 505s in the UK are pretty much identical to 501s but with a zip. Haven't seen any 505 shrink to fits recently.

Purchased a pair of 505s from American Classics (Covent Garden, London)two weeks ago. Mine are a pair of European re-makes (great jeans). They had a pile of dead-stock originals (I think), I was pointed in their direction but took no further notice when informed that they didn't have a pair my size (or budget). Might be worth giving them a ring...very friendly knowledgeable service. Think they are already pre-shrunk.

I bought 2 pair recently...
They are zip fly and labeled as "straight fit" as opposed to 514 slim-straight....
