Also, safest. You know that old yarn about going blind from white lightning? Yeah... it's actually true.

Methanol is a byproduct of distillation, one which is generally removed by professional processes. Amateur operations... not always so much. It attacks the central nervous system, including the optic nerve. Result: blindness.

Irony: the cure is... ethanol! And lots of it, very quickly.
