1940s Harris Tweed. This is very thick tweed. Harris Tweed label says "Copyright 1949" but the inside Union label says 1940. My first tweed suit.

That's the 1949 Union label. The numbers on the copyright often get smudged. I can assure you, it says - or was supposed to say when printed - 1949. This was used from 1949-about '63 when a small ® appeared in the lower left corner, just next to your finger.

I believe this suit is from the 1940s. Marc Chevalier describes the fabric as "granite cloth."

Dinerman thats a killer suit in very good condition, it looks unworn! Nice shot SteveAS, the ensemble looks good, some heels on the lady's shoes btw.

Thanks, esteban. Christina is seldom seen with less than 3" heels. After brunch, we strolled for about a mile along the shore walk and she was fine in those heels; she's a good one!

(a) Your post can go potentially overlooked in this thread and go unanswered

(b) "The Thread to Display your 19XX Suits" threads are meant to be light on conversation and heavy on pictures.

I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to be helpful.
