One thing that's nice about menswear vs leather jackets (or I should say most leather jackets because some vendors like Johnson have a version of this–though only to a point because once leather is cut, it's cut, and cutting extra is not feasible like it is with cloth) is that during your wait you have fittings which not only produce detailed feedback about your pattern but also help you fine tune what it is you want because you can change your mind about elements, shift design choices, etc.
Agreed. I also find menswear bespoke offering limitless choices. In contrast, with leather-jacket customs, the choices of hides and color are often so limiting, except for very few makers like JL who’s willing to work with you on any hide you provide.
