I want a Heat Straps V-2 Deck Jacket. I am a sucker for warm weather clothing. This is a warm jacket. Do I need it? Probably not as I have a bunch of other warm weather coats and jackets, including a Canada Goose and an N3-B.

But I can justify it. As soon as their production run starts, my order will be in. Don't want to be cold this winter.
I just went back to Heat Straps to look at the V2 and it’s gone, the only jacket they are selling now is a $1000.00 jean jacket!!!

It appears they got together with Carl Murawski and decided to stop making work clothes.

I saw that and wondered what was going on.

A while back I contacted them and they said production on the deck jackets would resume in September/October. Now, maybe not.

No, Heat Straps just want to try and always knock it out of the park. Often that means using very expensive materials like mouton (which lines the "jean jacket" you mention), or custom wool fabrics, etc. The original Workhorse is now on version 11 and will remain the same price as previous models. My involvement has nothing to do with their prices, and the Heat Straps brothers are in charge of pricing, shipping, and customer service.

There are a few things on my ‘will buy’ list, but I’m waiting for my ‘will sell’ list to go down to pay for them.

I keep going back to Marc’s Field deco Trojan jacket lately and thinking that if I won the lottery I would try to get something very similar (maybe toning down the lapels a bit). That really was a masterpiece that remains unrivalled.

Thank you.

I finally heard back from them a few days ago. Yes, the deck jackets will be available. If their customer service is as slow as their response time to me, I am a bit concerned.

I gave up bidding on a Y’2 Grizzly in Indigo leather today. I couldn’t justify spending more than $600 on a jacket that I could barely wear in SoCal. There aren’t that many cold days and I had to be realistic with myself. It would be another closet queen, by circumstance and not by choice.

It is time to move on to a different boat.
I always wanted to buy this one and just take off and reside in the waters of the world.

But this hunter 450 passage is a more down to earth and will be easier to justify. Remember, you only live ones.

^^ Sadly not a lot of places in my neck of the cornfields to use a boat such as these! :)

But I would love to check one out if on a coast sometime.

Wife and I lived on a Hans Christian 33 for 20 years mostly in Florida and Eastern Caribbean up until a couple of years ago when we sold the boat in Grenada and settled onto 13 acres in Ohio to be close to kids and family.

We had good friends who had an Amal Super Maramu in Grenada. They would live on it about 6 months a year and then spend the rest of the year in Aby Dhabi or southern Spain. Nice roomy boat and nice cruiser. Saw a few of them throughout the Caribbean.

I am a big fan of the Hans Christians. Scandinavian boats are by far my favorite types. When I was in Finland helping a friend with a delivery, I was able to stop and check out the big boys in Jakobstad Finland.
My problem, I mainly sail solo. Those bigger and stronger blue water boats sometimes need extra hands. Maybe in ten years, I will downgrade to a Med suited 37-40'. My first choice is Nauticat 40.

Have you considered a Dehen? They’re so substantial
Thanks for the endorsement. I ended up getting the Dehen. Very pleased with it. I think it will be a warm jacket for the cold days around the farm. Will probably also wear it to games on Sundays. As some of you know, NFL stadiums are the coldest locations in a 50 mile radius.

Temps in the 30s outside the stadium somehow become temps in the teens once inside and seated.
