Silly Seersucker question

I have a pair like these in white with blue saddles that look excellent with a blue seersucker suit.

I cannot understand why you would rule out a burgundy or plain brown?

With seersucker, the alternating white stripe works to mitigate the effect of the corresponding color. In this case purple actually reads more like lavender. It doesn't look any more a daring choice than blue, IMO.
