Yep, I think that the patch pocket is too much when paired with the fabric's strong stripes, lapel shape, and texture. It's overkill.

Guyot's interest in Apparel Arts is admirable, but he got its founding year wrong: it was, as I recall, 1930 or '31 -- not 1935.
