Her entrance is classic. BTW, from a design element standpoint, the Tyrell corporation in the film is represented using triangles. The building is a pyramid, the coporate logo is trangular, so Rachel, a product of the company should be stack of triangles as well, don't you think?

Slightly off topic... wherefore have all the steampunk movies gone? Aliens, Blade Runner, etc. all had a great look and feel to them. While I love Trek (it was believable despite sometimes being a little sterile), I also love the feel of something having familiar workings despite being technically advanced. Not a lot of that seen now, and while Star Wars had it to some extent -- welding tools, pipes, wrenches when working on a HYPERDRIVE lol -- it's not very prevalent anymore. I wonder why.

They took all the heaviness and mechanization out of technology.
The Next Gen Enterprise looks like a suburban kitchen appliance.
Nothing clanky or clunky could possibly be sci-fi, right? Everything will be slick and antiseptic in the future, right?

Although, technically, Blade Runner is cyber punk. Steam Boy is pure steam punk. Golden compass might be argued to have some steam punk elements, though....

I don't mind The Next Generation actually... different aesthetic, that's all. I just wish more cyber/steam punk would be around in general.

Firefly/Serenity had a sort of steampunk aesthetic... though they, sadly, are also gone.
Stardust - a movie based on the story by Neil Gaiman - is coming out this August. I don't know how steampunky it will be, but it does contain the requisite Airship
And I'm envious of the Rachel costuming! I've always wanted to do a Bladerunner costume myself! Looking forward to seeing your final product!
