How hard is it to find a nice DB suit these days???

Lapels can be peaked, notched or shawl. Peaked is what double breasted suits have (although it does exist in single breasted), notched is what normal modern suits have (although some vintage suits had this too) and shawl is what dressing gowns have. Peaked lapels are the most formal.

A lot of people still (like myself) don't consider a notched lapel on a tux to be formal at all. I personally think that it's fine for an entertainer on stage or perhaps for some types of "night on the town" evening wear but should be avoided for truly formal events.

Peak Laples just look better on a tuxedo, notch lapels make a tux look like a really "spiffy" suit.

Found a cream dinner jacket w/ shawl collar on evilBay...

CrazyD, I just got our son one for a really good price. They have mens sizes too. Here's what it looks like:

. Its polyester, but looks close enough for a 30s-40s style wedding to be okay, and the price is fine. I'll dig up the seller name for you.
