Son of Harvey Speaks!

All right, let me throw in my two cents, since I am not the re-make of Harvey, but the son of Harvey.

My father was stage manager for the Broadway version of the play with Jimmy Stewart and Helen Hayes, and actually painted the portrait that Elwood Dowd brings home and puts on the mantle. A photo was taken of Dad standing in as "Harvey", with his hand on Jimmy's shoulder, and then he did the painting from the photo, painting himself in as the rabbit. I can't show the photo, as it is huge and can't be scanned, but here is the painting:

I can't say any better what others have said here about the evil of screwing with other people's art. But at least I can lend some visual appeal to the argument.

I have to admit: I rented it. It was horrible! Normally I like Meg Ryan, but this was a travesty. *yucky*
