Not an advertising character, but a cool, old ad with some interesting text:

Love dad's iconic briefcase.

It seems to apply to people as well these days.

Just came across this. Never heard of the company, but love its name and advertising campaign.

Anyone know anything about the company?

It seems to have been one of those "Be Your Own Boss" franchise companies that were popular during the Depression -- you'd sign up as Exclusive Local Agent, and then go out and convince storekeepers to put one of your machines on their counter as a trade stimulator. The Fireside company had a very neat countertop peanut warmer --

There was a light bulb inside the bottom casing of the warmer, with a slotted aluminum cup mounted on a needle pivot over the bulb. When you turned it on, the light from the bulb not only warmed the peanuts, but it caused the aluminum cup to rotate -- created the projected effect of flickering flames on the ad panel. Devilishly clever!

Good pun and, yes, that is both clever and cool. Human ingenuity, even for the silliest of things, can be impressive when the effort is concentrated.
