In the 70's the corduroy suit often had suede patches at the elbows and I associate them with mens tan colored Frye boots too. Also cheesy film music featuring a lot of wah-wah guitar riffs.

FYI. I went back to the thrift store and the corduroy suit was GONE. No big surprise there. It was a nice suit.
