Made for Each Other (1939), with Carole Lombard and Jimmy Stewart
with
Of Human ******* (1934), with Bette Davis, Leslie Howard, Frances Dee and Kay Johnson

The Pajama Game (1957), with Doris Day
with
Happy Go Lovely (1951) with David Niven, Vera-Ellen and Cesar Romero

so 5 films for 3 dollars and tax.

My MIL hit one of the dollar stores with similar luck and stuffed our stockings. We got:

1- Elizabeth Taylor in Father's Little Dividend, Bette Davis in Of Human ******* and Tulsa staring Susan Hayward

2- Jimmy Stewart in Made for Each Other, Frank Sinatra in Suddenly and William Powell and Carole Lombard in My Man Godfrey

3- Bob Hope's Road to Bali, and My Favorite Brunette, and The Inspector General with Danny Kaye

4- At War With the Army with Martin and Lewis, Abbot and Costello in Africa Screams, and Laurel and Hardy in Flying Deuces.

That ought to keep our DVD player busy for a while!!

I recently had the good fortune to find an Alfred Hitchcock box set. Four DVDs for 99¢! That was too good to be true even for the 99¢ store so I tracked down a manager just to make certain. Hitchcock's earlier work; of the eight pictures there are three talkies.
