This vintage Resistol and I spent the weekend out beyond the internet and cell service, so here's a couple to catch up. A friend that works at the liquor store had hooked me up with a couple of the sample sized Blanton's. It made for a good trip.

Trying a whisky we got in a whisky raffle. Unfortunately, we missed out on the Macallan 30yo that goes for ¥340,000. We got the Turntable Smokin’ Riff.
An Akubra Stylemaster for the inclement weather today.
A nice blend of, but I’d probably just go for a regular Caol Ila 12yo for a little lower price.

The ones in Japan guarantee that you get a bottle. This bottle goes for about ¥1,000 ($US6.40) more than I paid. If I wasn’t going to win one of the big prizes, I was hoping to get one of the 130 bottles of Pokeno whisky from New Zealand that go for a similar price to this one.

This is an annual fundraiser for a local children’s hospital. This yr was the 6th yr, my 2nd. Naturally I wanted to win the Pappy 15, Rare Eagle 17, or Blanton set (in that order). Instead all I will get is a tax write off!

Trump Moves To Lift 10% Tariff On Scotch
Yesterday, President Trump announced the removal of the 10% tariff and restrictions on scotch whisky. The tariff has been cited as a major factor in the decline of scotch exports, with exports to the US declining by 15% since the tariff was implemented in April 2025. “This deal is a significant boost for the Scotch Whisky industry in our most valuable export market, said Mark Kent, chief executive of the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA). “Distillers can breathe a little easier during a period of significant pressure on the sector.”Anyone think retail prices will come down?
