How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Had a good poker night with buddies and had too much to drink. I did a thing…

This arrived today. Short story - a Return request has already been posted to the original seller.

It's the tightest "Large" I have ever tried on - and in weird areas. Middle of the sleeves almost too tight to get my arms through. Yet the sleeves barely tighten at all when zipped closed. Mid-section of the body is very tight. 22" pit to pit, and double-ended YKK zipper is fussy and appears very used (heavy wear in the brass). Brown "paint" on the brass lapel snaps. Leather looks like it's painted. I'll get together a more proper review but I did take dimension photos of it. Going back it the box straightaway.
That’s a shame. Sleeves sound like a dealbreaker for me, before even getting to the rest. Hopefully you can sort a return.

Oh man, that sounds rough..
Did you check the RW chart for a "large" before buying this one? Or was it some custom one off and didn't correspond to the standard measurements?
The sleeve tightness is definitely a thing on my RW as well, one of the main reasons it's up for sale..
And I've been pointing out the lack of taper in the wrist with each zip sleeve RW I saw for a while until I gave up. When I got mine I had to take it to a local tailor to fix the cuffs.
Looking forward to the photos!

That would explain the zippers near the waist, I guess. Thanks!

These are the kind of coats that your jacket has been made from. First photo I posted is of the earliest example - possibly even dating from the 1940's - and, in my opinion, the finest. Having been made through full application of the most traditional tailoring techniques with no corners cut, these were made exclusively from nearly two millimeters thick horsehide. Construction, attention to detail, stitching, not to mention pattern... I would compare it to something but I honestly don't know what as nothing that I have ever handled comes close.

The issue is that they were widely reproduced and as decades went by, hastening thus cheapening production process resulted in great supply of superficially similar looking coats that, at the time at least did not seem particularly noteworthy. Even though most were still of stellar quality.

They became old fashioned by the 60's and during the 70's, people began converting them into motorcycle jackets. The jacket that you bought used to be an earlier model. Leather is very good, thought not the ******proof kind & styling is still very 1940's.

That's a bummer. Good thing your eBayer does returns! I ordered the 2XL, which I guess corresponds to a 46 according to their size chart, plus an inch in the sleeves. Leilah even sent me a brief with all measurements confirmed before I placed a deposit. Will let you know how jacket measurements turn out when it arrives.

Thank you Monitor! I do appreciate the background and pictures you provided about how this jacket came to be.
This may explain some of the slightly "off" details; and definitely gives me ideas for what to do to the jacket (maybe) in the future.

Unfortunately, the ebay - er does not do returns, and didn't even communicate with me after I requested one - just Cancelled it. He will not be getting any more business from me. See the RW review thread - and the sale ad in the classified. I do not suggest these jackets overall.

Well the early Avirex sheepskin Anj/m445 came, I like it, it's a good fit, no holes or tears, a bit faded but I'll just rub a bit of Sapo on it, the USAAF decal on the sleeve, I have a mash replacement decal but the one on looks more authentic and a bit scuffed, overall worth the 80 euros I paid on buyee for, which incidentally he had it listed as a B3 haha

Jacket cleaned up nicer, also found Avirex put the small silver USAAF decal on the zipper flap, don't know whether to restore colour back to original but I kind of like it in this rough and ready condition, who knows , I have never seen one of these in Europe, ever
