Forgive my ignorance, but is $620 American a good deal for this purchase? Genuinely curious, folks.

I’d say about $200 too expensive, at least. New Vanson retails at $800s and can be found on eBay for $400s-$500s. I don’t trust seller that says “worn once,” which I interpret to mean having worn for one or two seasons. With leather jacket’s long break-in period, it still looks like-new.

That's *******s mate.
Maybe 6 years ago and Aussie retailer motorcycle shop had brand new Vanson deadstock for $500 Aussie.
About $400 USD at the time.
I had 2, a Comet and Sturgis.
Maybe times change but maybe not.

A nearly 40-year-old Vanson on Vinted in the UK that is basically in dead stock condition.

I look at it this way - it's not a good price in US, but a decent one in UK (as you can't get Vansons easily in the UK).
After having bought 10 Vanson jackets from JP this is how I see pricing when buying from JP:
100-200eur - very nice deal.
200-300eur - still good, especially if it's a rarer model or leather or just fantastic condtion.
300-400eur - might still be a good purchase if it's a very derireable, very rare model in very good condition. For example something like a horsehide or octagon C2. The coats also tend to land in this category.
Anything above that is not worth it in my opinion.
And I have to add ~50eur for shipping.

Regarding this particular listing NOTHING indicates that it's a 40 year old jacket apart from the listing description. And of course the main zipper is conveniently hidden under the belt. Same with sleeve zippers.
To me it looks like a 2010+ C2.
Either way at ~525eur it's nowhere near worth it.
The only attractive thing about it is the size, which would be impossible to find in JP.

I would generally tend to agree with you. Would like to add though that the particular jacket in the ad looks like the good old nice competition weight leather which is not available anymore. I still think it is priced too high but if the seller comes down to between 3 and 400 it would be acceptable imo

Yes, perhaps I assumed people would have a bit more context - Vansons are expensive in the UK and everybody lists high on Vinted, you’d almost certainly get it for a fair bit less than the listed price. Not the deal of the century but I thought it worth sharing for any Brits looking for the old comp weight stuff.
