If you’re looking for a wearable unfussy vintage café racer, this Sears would do the trick. Opening bid $86.

My Sears Leather Shop MC jacket is one of my favorites. The leather is soft but solid and the fit is spot on (high arm holes, tight torso, with beefy hardware and a full range of mobility).

It seems like you have to really look at the leather closely, but $80-120 for one of these jackets is well worth it imo.

Here's one for $80.
23 inches PTP.

There are a number of others on eBay for a similar price. I generally dismiss the ones with a two panel back, but the single panel backs usually look pretty solid.

They are not on level with a heavy Kerr or Natal or Walter Dyer (when those can be found at similar prices), but there are definitely more of these.

I like mine better than my Schott 115 and my Branded Garments and my 70s Lesco. The quality is on par with all of these (it's actually better than the Lesco).

Hell, in all fairness I like it better than my LW Trojan even though the quality is far inferior (but I paid $700 for the Trojan) - but then the Trojan is not broken in.

I like the overall style of the single-zip CHP jacket, but I can't get past the badge-holder. It seems so ugly and out of place for a non-cop without a badge.

The stitching around the badge holder and the extra piece of leather can be removed, and the holes would be hardly noticeable over time. Easy fix.

For instance, could you tell there was a badge in the following jackets?

This is an incredible CHP jacket, made by an unknown manufacturer. 40/42 on bid starting at $265. tapers down to roughly 19 inches, which doesn't work for me. Seller is on FL.

I believe this is a Lewis Holster & Leather Goods Co. jacket.

Here’s mine to compare.

Can’t verify for sure without a label but it has some of the same details…double stitch around pocket, badge holder, back yoke etc…mine would be older as it has the button cuffs. These are extremely rare jackets. I’ve seen two examples including mine that feature a woolen lining underneath the rayon which is interesting.

Thanks @jeo for the knowledge. I love the back of this jacket.

How about saw tooth stitching under the collar of yours?
